Once a skater reaches Stage 4-5 in CanSkate and demonstrates strong basic skills, they may be invited to transition into the STARSkate program. Coaches can provide guidance on when a skater is ready.
8. Are parents allowed on the ice with their child?
No, only registered skaters and certified coaches are allowed on the ice for safety reasons. However, parents can watch from designated viewing areas. However, this does not apply to the “Me and My Parent” class assuming both the parent and the child has registered as this class is designed for both parent and child participation.
9. What if my child is nervous about skating for the first time?
Our certified coaches and program assistants create a welcoming, fun environment. Skaters can progress at their own pace, and encouragement is always a priority.
10. How can I support my child’s progress in skating?
Encourage consistent practice, attend club events and competitions, communicate with the coach about progress and goals, and create a supportive environment at home.
11. What competitions are available for skaters?
Skaters in Skate Canada Skating Clubs can compete in various local, regional, provincial, and national competitions. These events are designed for skaters at different skill levels, from recreational to elite.

How do I register for a program at the Waterford Tricenturena Skating Club?
Registration can be completed online through our online registration platform, Uplifter. Simply follow this link, create an account and you can begin the registration process.
How do I pay for my session?
Payment is due in full at the time of registration. This can be done by credit card through the UpLifter system. If you choose to use e-Transfer, deadlines for payment will be determined at the time of registration for for each session. If this deadline is missed and you have not contacted the club at WTSC.info@gmail.com, your registration will be cancelled. For more details about forms of payment, including cheque and e-Transfer, please read below.
Can I pay by e-Transfer?
We are now able to offer e-Transfer as a payment option for registration. You need to log in to your online banking website or mobile app. Send the amount owed to the email address:
Security answer: enter anything as we have autodeposit turned, on and it will be automatically deposited.
The money will be transferred from your account to the club. There may be a small fee from your own bank associated with the transaction. For more details, check with your financial institution. More information about e-transfer can be found on the Interac website.
Can I pay by cheque?
If you have registration issues or wish to pay by cheque – select the option to “Pay by Cheque in Person or by E-Transfer”. You can then mail your cheque to WTSC PO Box 614, Waterford, N0E 1Y0.
What support is available for families who need financial assistance?
Our mission is to ensure every child can skate, regardless of financial circumstances. Subsidies and grants are available, including programs like Jumpstart, Kidsport, and WTSC Skater Bursaries.
