Canskate Level 1 – 6

CanSkate Levels 1-6 are designed to introduce skaters to the fundamentals of skating in a progressive and fun way. Starting with basic skills like balance and gliding in Level 1, skaters gradually build on their abilities, learning more advanced techniques such as crossovers, stops, and backward skating by Level 6. Each level emphasizes skill development, confidence-building, and preparing skaters for more specialized sports like figure skating, hockey, and speed skating. 

Hockey Canskate

Hockey CanSkate is a program designed specifically for young skaters looking to develop the basic skating skills needed for hockey. Focusing on essential techniques like balance, agility, and quick turns, this program prepares skaters for the demands of hockey while building confidence on the ice. Me and My Parent

The Me & My Parent program at Waterford Tricenturena Skating Club is designed for young skaters who are just starting out, offering a fun and supportive introduction to the ice with the guidance of a parent or guardian. This program encourages bonding and helps skaters build confidence while learning basic skating skills such as balance and gliding. With a focus on having fun, the Me & My Parent program provides an engaging and interactive way for families to experience the joy of skating together.

Shining Stars

Shining Stars is an advanced level of the CanSkate program, designed for skaters who have mastered the fundamentals and are ready to take their skills to the next level. 1. What is CanSkate?

5. How do I register for CanSkate?

Yes! Parents are welcome to watch from designated viewing areas. However, only skaters and coaches are allowed on the ice.

10. Who teaches the CanSkate program?

Our CanSkate sessions are led by certified Skate Canada coaches, assisted by trained program assistants who help ensure each skater receives individual attention and support.

11. What happens if a session is canceled?

In the rare event of a session cancellation, updates will be posted on our website and social media accounts and sent via email to registered participants.

How & When to Register

How do I register for a program at the Waterford Tricenturena Skating Club?

Registration can be completed online through our online registration platform, Uplifter. Simply follow this link, create an account and you can begin the registration process.

How do I pay for my session?

Payment is due in full at the time of registration.  This can be done by credit card through the UpLifter system.  If you choose to use e-Transfer, deadlines for payment will be determined at the time of registration for for each session. If this deadline is missed and you have not contacted the club at WTSC.info@gmail.com, your registration will be cancelled. For more details about forms of payment, including cheque and e-Transfer, please read below.

Can I pay by e-Transfer?

We are now able to offer e-Transfer as a payment option for registration.  You need to log in to your online banking website or mobile app.   Send the amount owed to the email address:

Security answer: enter anything as we have autodeposit turned, on and it will be automatically deposited.

The money will be transferred from your account to the club.  There may be a small fee from your own bank associated with the transaction.  For more details, check with your financial institution.  More information about e-transfer can be found on the Interac website.

Can I pay by cheque?

If  you have registration issues or wish to pay by cheque – select the option to “Pay by Cheque in Person or by E-Transfer”.  You can then mail your cheque to WTSC PO Box 614, Waterford, N0E 1Y0.

What support is available for families who need financial assistance?

Our mission is to ensure every child can skate, regardless of financial circumstances. Subsidies and grants are available, including programs like Jumpstart, Kidsport, and WTSC Skater Bursaries.
